Good Reads: Woodrow Wilson

wilsonWilson routinely makes the top ten of presidential ranking lists but has not evoked the kind of appeal that made people “like ” Ike or admire “plain talking” Harry Truman. Scott Berg’s new biography looks to give Wilson a boost,  “Berg presents a Wilson who not even his contemporaries fully knew:” an intellectual capable of deep feeling,  a man of ideas who grasped the levers of political power.  The result? An eventful presidency whose legacies are still felt today and whose failures were, in part, the result of an obstinate Congress.  “Readable, authoritative, inspiring (Kirkus Reviews).”
