A Baker’s Dozen Mysteries and Thrillers

ripperOur latest additions to our reader’s favorite genre.  We are short on cozies this time, but are well stocked with police proceedurals, noirs, suspense, and international intrigue.  And, for a cherry on-top, a first foray into crime by a respected novelist:  in Ripper by Isabelle Allende,  a super-smart high-schooler   Amanda Martín and her friends, who are obsessed with an Internet role-playing game,  start their own investigation in a series of unsolved crimes in a story that is “sharply perceptive, utterly charming, and intensely suspenseful (Booklist).”   Read on for the usual suspects.
