RB-BOThe ice is out, which means its time to start enjoying the library’s museum passes again!  “Romare Bearden: Black Odysseyis a retelling of Homer’s tale in colorful collages and watercolors.  Although the imagery is rooted in the African-American experience, their beauty will remind viewers that each of us is on a personal odyssey.  This is a rare chance to appreciate a distinctive American artist. The exhibit comes to the Currier through the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in coordination with the Romare Bearden Foundation and Estate and DC Moore Gallery. Also on display? Dutch and Flemish Masterworks from the  Otterloo Collection and a special collection from the Currier archives assembled by contemporary artist Andrew Witkin. You can also enjoy ‘Currier After Hours’ from 6-9pm on the first Thursday of every month. There’s live music,  tours, a cash bar and full menu at the museum café.
