Inspiring quote?  You bet.  But think twice before you grab that     highlighter.  Every now and then, one of our borrowers sees fit to mark a passage to save a memorable quote, post an objection or make a correction.  Things is, once that  mark is made, it’s indelible.  Your moment of  inspiration becomes another reader’s distraction.  So, please: take an extra minute to transcribe that passage in a notebook. Or, paste it on Evernote or Notepad.  Just don’t highlight that text.  After all, they do not belong to you–they belong to all of us (the page at left is from our copy of  Waging Heavy Peace by Neil Young (2012), annotated by an enthusiastic patron).
