Back to School

schoolday_vintageLabor Day has come and gone, so while there may be warm days ahead, summertime is officially over. The kids are …

“up in the morning and out to school
“the teacher is teachin’ the golden rule.
Their studying hard, hoping to pass,
American history and practical math.” C. Berry

But what about about you? Maybe now is the time to take up one of those reads you may have been putting off all summer. Meaty fiction like Amy Bloom’s “Lucky Us”, Donna Tart’s “The Goldfinch”, or Eleanor Catton’s “The Luminaries.” Or, illuminating nonfiction like Kai Bird’s “The Good Spy” or Ron Pearlsteins “Invisible Bridge.” Or, one of our Meredith Village SavingsBank books of the month (our latest are “Tomlinson Hill” and “The Liar’s Wife.”). Tune in the next couple of days for more ‘back to school’ suggestions.
