Oscar’s Top Stories and an Oscar Classic

imitationzThey say to make a good film, you need a good story.  And the award for best adapted screenplay went to “The Imitation Game,” a story about a national hero with a secret life.   Benedict Cumberbatch plays Alan Turning, the famed code breaker of WWII famed, who had the misfortune to be gay at a time when it was outlawed.  Birdman took the award for best original screenplay. And, for your throwback Oscar classic, we offer “Z”, a story about an assination and cover-up that won  the best picture award in 1969. This ‘ pulse-pounding thriller,”  loosely based on the 1963 assassination of a Greek  activist, stars Yves Montand.
