New films not of an academy award winning variety. Those seeking light fare and romance could start with “My Old Lady”, in which bachelor Kevin Kline finds his newly-inherited Paris apartment inhabited by a determined lodger (Maggie Smith) and her daughter (Kristen Scot Thomas). In “The Big Wedding,” a divorced couple (Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton) are forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding. Expect “uproarious” fun and hammy antics from the ensemble cast. Speaking of antics, “Night at the Museum 3” offers further nocturnal adventures from exhibits come to live to the alarm of watchman Ben Stiller.
New suspense films include” Brick Mansions,” police attempt to contain crime by building a walling off a crime ridden section of the city. In “Kill the Messenger,” Jeremy Renner stars as a journalist who discovers CIA complicity in the smuggling of cocaine into the US. In “Nightcrawler”, Jake Gyllenhaal plays the leader of a freelance camera crew who films fires, murder and other mayhem. “Dracula Untold” explores the early life of the dark count. “The Last Legion” is a farrago about the fall of Rome.
