Six Really Good Novels

dreamOn the new book shelf at the Nichols Library are Six Really Good Novels  that got a positive nod form the critics but which also make for absorbing reading.  Titles include “The Children’s Crusade,” Ann Packer’s “flawless” family history; “Whispering  Shadows” Jan Philipp-Sendkers, well-crafted story “about the burden of survival;  “The Dream Lover”, Elizabeth Berg’s story based on the life of novelist George Sand; “I Refuse by Per Petterson (“Out Stealing Horses”); and  “A slant of Light” by Jeffrey Lent.
