suspenseFast-paced knuckle-biters for your reading pleasure.  In “Death Wears a Beauty Mask”, Mary Higgins Clark completes a forty year old novella about a missing model and packages it with a collection of shorter crimes stories that date back to her first publication, 1956’s “Stowaway.”  In “Solitude Creek” by Jeffrey Deaver [HC and Audio] Agent Kathryn Dance investigates a fire which caused a fatal stampede at a roadhouse.   “The Fall by John Lescroart is about a teacher who befriends an Afro-American student, only to find himself a suspect when she is killed. “Gathering Prey” by John Sandford, (HC & audio) begins with a chance encounter between a student and a pair of panhandlers, who tell of a Manson-like gang of traveling killers.  In “The 14th Deadly Sin” [HC & audio], the Women’s Murder Club tracks another sadistic killer in this month’s fast-paced thriller from Patterson Industries.
