Sunshine Daydream

roads“So Many Roads” by David Browne details the life and times of the Grateful Dead. They came of of the folk scene but got plugged in and gained a rep for lengthy jams led by Jerry Garcia’s sinewy bluegrass-inflected guitar runs. Drawing from the catalog of American traditional music and their own compositions, they survived the hippie era to became an all-American electric folkie roadhouse jam band.    Browne “braids his tale like melody lines in a primo jam.”
