For futuristic action movie fans, we have Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Mockingjay Part 2”. Critics thought that “Mockingjay,” which completes the Hunger games trilogy, fell short of pinnacle of “Catching Fire” (this writer could not find an upbeat quote). Still, if you’ve started the series, you may as well take it home. “The Force Awakens”, the seventh of the “Star Wars” films, is a “triumphant return to form”. It captures some of the visual grandeur and spirit of the first feature. It also uses more than a few of the first films plot mechanisms (wistful hero, cute robot, masked villain, escape from a besieged planet, x-wing fighters, death star). But the pieces are tossed and served with a surprising freshness and élan.
