Good old mysteries

hope Remember   special agent Maggie Hope (Mr. Churchill’s Secretary)?  She is back in two new stories by Susan MacNeal.  In The Prime Ministers Secret Agent, she investigates in inexplicable series of illness in Glasgow.  In Mrs Roosevelt’s Confidante, she accompanies Churchill to the US, posing as a typist.  Their mission? To negotiate the United States’ entry into World War II.  Also of interest for mystery fans:  “The Murder of Mary Russell” by Laurie King, in which Sherlock Holmes’s long-time partner has disappeared, leaving signs of a deadly struggle.
