The Nichols Library with be closed Monday, February 20th in observation of Presidents Day. The holiday, which originally honored George Washington, was originally implemented by an Act of Congress in 1879. Celebrated for his leadership in the founding of the nation and a figure of national unity of the office. In 1968, the holiday was re-designated Presidents Day to also honor Abraham Lincoln, for his leadership in preserving the union and his magnanimity. Both are though to be exemplars of presidential leadership.
