In The Fencing Master by Arturo Perez-Reverte,  a master swordsman becomes involved in  intrigue when an aristocrat is stabbed by the master’s signature thrust. It is a move he has shown only to a select few, including the mysterious madame Adela de Otero.  This this is a “taut, elegant mystery” which “ignores the boundaries” of the crime genre.  It hasn’t gone out in a while.   Does it still have an audience?
