In Sulfur Springs by William Krueger, a search for a missing man in the Arizona desert exposes a violent power struggle along the Mexican border.  The Cuban Affair by Nelson DeMille involves a charter skipper who takes advantage of the Cuban ‘thaw’ to recover cash hidden since Castro’s revolution. In The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapeña, parents return from  a neighbor’s party to find their front door open and their infant daughter’s crib empty.  james Patterns, Inc has 2 new titles out:  in Haunted  (James Born), Detective Michael Bennet’s Maine vacation is interrupted by the discovery of bodies in the woods near his cabin; in The Store (Richard DiLallo), reporters pose as workers in an Amazon-like mega-store.
