Stocking stuffers (books)

typeOne of Santa’s adjunct elves arrived in his little brown truck with a carton of cheer for the holiday season. Inside? Tasty fiction, engaging real-life stories and 6 fabulous flicks on DVD. “Uncommon Type” by Tom Hanks (yes, that Tom Hanks) contains “seventeen wide-ranging and whimsical stories—with a typewriter tucked into each one”. In Danielle Steel’s “Past Perfect”, a couple communes with ghosts in their Pacific Heights mansion.  “Gold Dust Woman” by Stephen Davis tells how fame found Stevie Nicks (she was brought into Fleetwood Mac as an afterthought). “Bobby Kennedy” by Chris Matthews is a “brisk, admiring portrait” of the most pugnacious of the Kennedy brothers.
