In “The Delight of Being Ordinary” by Richard Merullo (“Breakfast with Buddha”), Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama bail on official duties for a road trip through the Italy countryside.  Along for the ride (and comic relief) are the Pope’s cousin Paolo, his estranged wife, and an eccentric hairdresser.  It’s “playful, eloquent, and life-affirming.”
