The Return of the Ove-Man

us!Us against You” is the latest tale from Frederick Backman (“A Man Called Ove”.   Here, he picks up the story about the hockey-obsessed village of “Beartown”.   As the new hockey season approaches, the team is still in the throes of a scandal. The fan’s hopes hang on an unconventional new coach and the narrow shoulders of four untested players.  In short, Hoosiers on ice.  “Backman’s excellent novel has an atmosphere of both folktale and Greek tragedy, creating a blunt realism that brings the setting’s small-town atmosphere to vivid life” (Publishers Weekly).
