Drama with a D

lostHere are two well-regarded stories about family meltdowns.  “The Lost Family” by Jenna Blum is about Holocaust survivor who settles in the US, builds a business, and starts a family, only to see it unravel in the 80’s. We have “a husband devastated by grief, a wife struggling to compete with a ghost she cannot banish, and a daughter  lost before she was born”. “A Place for Us” by Fatima Mirza is a “textured and keenly felt” (NYT) story about an American Muslim family that struggles to maintain traditional ways against the temptations of their new home.
