Two Kates

Kate Atkinson and KateMosse.  In “Big Sky”, Kate Atkinson brings back iconoclastic detective Jackson Brodie.  His current case, gathering proof of a husband’s indiscretions for his suspicious wife, is fairly routine.  A chance encounter with a desperate man on a crumbling cliff, however, leads him into deeper waters.   In “The Burning Chambers”, Mosse takes back to France in the 1560s, a country divided between Catholics and Huguenots. In this volatile situation,  nineteen-year-old Minou Joubert receives an anonymous letter at her father’s bookshop. Sealed with a distinctive family crest, it contains just five words: “she knows that you live.”
