“The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides is a psychological thriller about a seemingly senseless murder.   A chic fashion photographer returns to the home he shares with his artist wife.  She shots him on the spot and then goes silent.  Her silence lends itself to public notoriety, which causes the value of her art to skyrocket but baffles authorities.  Theo Faber, a criminal psychotherapist, is tasked with getting her to talk and making sense of her motivations, a task that threatens to be all-consuming.
