Almost Midnight” by Paul Doiron finds ranger Mike Bowditch with two challenging cases on his hands. A prison snitch calls out a new female guard with a shaky past. When the guard is brutally attacked, Bowditch becomes concerned that his informant and his family may also be at risk.  Meanwhile, a wolf-hybrid has been illegally shot by an unknown bowman, but Mike’s investigation is blocked at every turn by a hostile community.  Bowditch predictably break every rule in the book to get to the heart of the matter.
