Etched in Granite” is an historical novel M. J. Pettengill.   Set in 1872, this novel is a harrowing account of life and death on a rural New England Poor Farm at the end of the Civil War. It is both a tragic, yet triumphant novel that tells a story of courage, survival, and secrets surrounding lost love. Inspired by the author’s discovery of a pauper cemetery, the author seeks to give voices to those silenced.
