Good Deeds Gone Wrong

The consequences of misguided good dominate this week’s thrillers. In A Dangerous Man by Robert Crais, Joe Pike tries to rescue a kidnapped woman named Izzy, a deed that him in the middle of a twisted feud (take a load off, Izzy?).  One Good Deed by David Baldacci finds new character Archer in a similar circumstance, when he agrees to collect a deb (take a load for free).  And in Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware, a woman ‘s seemingly idyllic job as a nanny in the skittish highlands turns into a nightmare (put the load right on me).
