Light drama and humor are on hand with the DVD release of the Downton Abbey movie. The King and Queen are to visit the Crawley estate, which gives plenty of opportunity for upstairs drama upstairs (will Tom reveal his sympathies for an independent Ireland) and down (how will the staff cope with the royal entourage). It’s a cream puff of a movie, but it is a treat to see the cast run it back. The Husband Hunters by Anne De Courcy is a lively story about American heiresses who married into the British aristocracy. Like the fictional Crawley family of Downtown Abbey, the women gained social cachet while their husbands acquired needed money their failing estates.
